I owned a mattress from another brand N----t that boasted cool sleep. First night, the mattress was like a radiator, I thought it's because the mattress was still filling up with air, but after 2 weeks, that mattress was still trapping and radiating environmental heat. I immediately started searching for a replacement and came across Zinus. Went down to the showroom and the sales attendant was very good in explaining the differences between the mattresses I was interested in. He was able to recommend mattresses based on my requirement which was pocketed springs, latex, no memory foam. I even asked what temperature was the showroom set to based on my experience with that first mattress and he was frank to say that most of the cooling effect comes from air-conditioning. I made a purchase shortly after and awaited the delivery. Delivery does not include set-up so I set the mattress up alone without too much issues. I do like the humour that was included with it. I immediately could tell the difference between the 2 mattresses since I have both with me. Zinus was significantly less hot due to the lack of memory foam. It was slightly firmer which fits me being 183cm, 53kg, back sleeper. My partner is shorter and lighter but have no issues with side sleeping too. The edge support is significantly weaker where the mattress will bulge out some and the top will sink downward a little, but it's not a huge deal since we don't spend a lot of time sitting on the edges. There's a "recent" concern with fibreglass but as far as I can tell, there's no fibreglass in this mattress. We feel little to no motion transfer, there were many times my partner left the bed but I didn't even know, I mostly feel motion coming from the duvet we use. "Smells" from the mattress was gone in about 2 - 3 days. If you do not sleep in an air-conditioned room and want a comfy mattress with little disturbances to partners from motion, you can pick this. No need to break the bank to get hotel-grade mattresses. Good mattress.
